Bure wazo School project

∴ Ongoing project / Beginning in May 2016                  ⊕ Localization: Chumvi, Kenya

BURE WAZO SCHOOL

Why are we doing this project?

Millions of kids in this world do not have access to education; they don’t have access to basic resources to live. Water, food, health

Sub-Saharan Africa is the most affected are on the Earth, where inequality is bigger and opportunities are limited. In Kenya, there is an estimation of 30% of the kids in primary age cannot attend school, and still today 26% need to work.

Chumvi is one of the places with worst data in its statistics, and that is why we chose it to develop our project in.

Education is the only way to escape from poverty. It is the only way to develop and move on, and that is why education is the main aim of our project.

The project

Bure Wazo School’s capacity is up to 80 children. It is completely free school for all children who attend it, and they all should be facing an extreme poverty situation.

In order to proceed with student admissions, as we are a small school with a small capacity, we need to research in order to find the ones who are facing the hardest situations.

CLASSROOMS

We count on four classrooms which capacity is up to 100 kids each. We work with the contents established by the school level of each class and their English (second official language in Kenya)

THE DINING ROOM

The dining room is an essential part in the school in order to deal with malnutrition and undernourishment problems.
